Perched in the heart of the most admirable country imaginable, halfway between the lands of C\u00e9zanne and Van Gogh, Picasso’s f\u00e9rias and the Roman monasteries, not far from the mossy fountains in the shade of the plane trees, the cypress avenues and the odoriferous trees, this place is a unique haven of peace away from the eyes,<\/strong> adopted by a host of artists and fashionable people (Elizabeth of England, San Antonio, Jean Reno, Bono, Hugh Grant, Pierre Arditi, Mireille Darc… ).<\/p>\n

It is a little corner of paradise in one of the most beautiful villages in France, Les Baux de Provence, a place steeped in history from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.<\/p>\n

Baumani\u00e8re is eighty years old, and its story continues to unfold.<\/p>\n

“Eighty years ago, my grandfather Raymond Thuilier had a dream: to turn this unique place, nestled in the heart of Les Baux-de-Provence, into an exceptional establishment.
In 1945, he founded Baumani\u00e8re with a bold ambition: to offer an extraordinary gastronomic and hotel experience, where the beauty of the landscape blends with the excellence of French savoir-faire.<\/p>\n

I had the privilege of taking over and infusing this establishment with my own commitment, preserving its soul
while guiding it towards the future. Over the years, we have perpetuated this demand for excellence, making Baumani\u00e8re a legendary place where the world’s greatest heads of state, artists and gourmets have come together.
The quest for taste and authenticity has always been at the heart of our approach, magnified today by the talent of Glenn Viel, whose cuisine celebrates the terroir with unrivalled creativity.<\/p>\n

Baumani\u00e8re is above all a story of passionate men and women who work every day to preserve and enrich this unique heritage.
And when I look back over the last 80 years, what a long way we’ve come! From the inauguration in 1946 by Georges Pompidou, to the creation of the Cabro d’Or in 1961, my arrival in 1969, the successive expansions, the restaurants abroad in Kyoto and London, the creation of a vineyard \u2013 Ch\u00e2teau Romanin, the creation of the spa, the purchase of the Prieur\u00e9 in Villeneuve-l\u00e8s-Avignon, the opening of the Strato in Courchevel, Baumani\u00e8re has always been ahead of its time, combining innovation and tradition while remaining faithful to a family spirit.<\/p>\n

But a house like Baumani\u00e8re does not live on its past alone. On the eve of this symbolic anniversary, I feel more than ever the need to commit to a responsible and sustainable approach for our future. We have already begun this transition with our eco-certified vegetable gardens, close collaboration with committed local producers and artisans from the region, and particular attention to resource management and waste sorting.
Tomorrow, Baumani\u00e8re aims to be even more respectful of its environment, continuing its efforts towards a more sustainable gastronomy and art de vivre.<\/p>\n

The soul of Baumani\u00e8re is also expressed through its aesthetics, and it is thanks to my wife, Genevi\u00e8ve, that its spaces have been redesigned and enhanced over the years. Her keen eye and attention to detail have made it possible to combine authenticity and elegance, offering our guests a refined and timeless setting.<\/p>\n

These eighty years have been marked by emotions, encounters and innovations. But the story of Baumani\u00e8re is far from over. It is with the same passion that I hope to see the next chapters written, alongside our teams and our loyal guests, so that this establishment continues to embody excellence, elegance and authenticity.”<\/p>\n
